Drip Campaigns are linear and that makes it difficult to switch out or modify content, once the campaign starts. And, once it ends, there is no simple method to introduce new or updated content to the existing campaign targets. At that point, you need a whole new campaign.

Smart Targeting

Building custom list segments can now be a chore of the past. Smart Campaigns allow you to define your target audience by profile, demographic and behavior.

When a target matches your campaigns criteria, they're automatically qualified for the campaign. At the same time, if a target becomes unqualified the campaign automatically ends.

Drip Campaigns are typically configured to send after a certain number of days, which makes it difficult for your sales team to predict and anticipate campaign activity. At the same time, if you're running multiple drip campaigns your targets could be experiencing email overload.
